“One windy night in August long-ago, on the steps of Home for little Moomintrolls, a bag was found… In the bag was none other than I, carelessly wrapped in newspapers…”
These are the first sentences of Moominappa’s memoirs and thus begins the story of his incredible life. Before starting a family, Moominpappa has led a life filled with adventures and dangers. While he reads the memoir to his son Moomintroll and his friends Sniff and Snufkin, we find out about the unbelievable stories from Moominpappa’s youth, but also Sniff’s father The Muddler’s and Snufkin’s father Joxter’s youths. Is it possible that their fathers were such adventurers in their youth? Moomintroll and his friends asked themselves. In these memoirs we meet Edward the Booble, a giant who can level anything, we find out how Moominpappa’s friend, the inventor Fredrikson, built an unusual ship which they used to travel, how the ship was overrun by thousands of cave dwellers who like company, but also sometimes biting off somebody’s nose. Many more irresistible characters and adventures await in this book, the fun is just getting started, and in the grand finale Moominpappa meets Moominmamma after saving her from shipwreck.
