Bekim Sejranović (1972 – 2020) was born in Brčko and educated in Rijeka, Zagreb and Oslo. He is the author of a short story collection “Fasung” and novels “Nigdje, niotkuda” (“Nowhere, Out of Nowhere”) and traveloguesque diary entries “Dnevnik jednog nomada” (“Diary of a nomad”). Sejranović’s novels and short stories have been translated into multiple languages, and “Nigdje, niotkuda” was awarded the “Meša Selimović” prize for best novel published in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in 2009. He has translated, among others, Ingvar Ambjørnsen and Frode Grytten’s work from Norwegian, as well as Steffen Kverneland’s graphic novel “Munch”. Sejranović filmed a documentary film “Od Tokija do Morave” (“From Tokio to Morava”) with Japanese director Moku Teraoka in 2011.
